The following is a copy of a letter sent to Genre Magazine.
Dear Genre:
I am appalled at your support for Coors beer (May Issue #148, 15th anniversary party). By taking product from Coors, you support one of the leading opponents of LGBT causes.
Indeed, Coors Corporation has cleaned up its act and has become a leader in gay-friendly employment practices, but this is only to sell beer.
The more money that Coors makes and the greater the amount of dividends that Coors receives, the more they have to finance the Coors family’s radical right activism. All 1,260,000 [shares] of Class A stock is held by Adolph Coors Jr. Trust, controlled entirely by the Coors family.
Yes, the Coors Brewing Co. is pro-gay, however, the profits of the company go to support homophobic organizations.
In essence, any gay person buying a Coors product is supporting his own destruction.
Our community must stand firm in the 20-year boycott. Don’t sell out Judas dollars.
